Lemon Sorbet

I'm taking a bit of a break from the reviews to focus on my library classes (semester ends this month!), but in the meantime, I've been thinking about making homemade lemon sorbet. It's clean, light, and cold---and is perfect for the upcoming hot months.

I found this recipe at about.com, but most of the recipes I found online have a similar structure.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest

PREPARATION:
In a small saucepan, bring the water and the sugar to a boil, stirring the mixture to dissolve the sugar. Add the lemon juice and zest to the sugar syrup and freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Makes 8 servings.

I don't own an ice cream maker, but I made some lime sorbet in jr. high, and compensated for the lack by intermittent stirring, so I'll try that again. I'll let you know how it turns out!
