Rear Window

Last night, Stephen and I attended the revival showing of Rear Window at the Charles Theater in Baltimore. I've seen the film a few times before, and it's my favorite Hitchcock, and my second favorite Jimmy Stewart film (I love The Philadelphia Story!)

I won't go into the plot, since most of my readers are probably familiar with it already, but it was incredible to see it on the big screen. The restoration was lovely, and I think that Grace Kelly is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Her entrance, as Lisa, with her lilting voice and enchanting presence, is ethereal. She is, and is meant to be, dream-like; an angel coming to rescue L. B. Jefferies with wine, gourmet food, and her chic wardrobe.

I love Philadelphia Story! Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

I saw Vertigo on the big screen when I lived in Texas. It's amazing how the drama and intensity of a Hitchcock film are amplified on a big screen.

Philadelphia Story is one of my all-time favorite movies. I can pretty much quote it verbatim.
