Running through the Renunculas

After being told by several acquaintences (and media outlets) that we should check out the flower fields in Carlsbad, we decided to head there this weekend. After all, it's a a once-a-year thing, local, and a sure sign of spring, so of course, we were in! Besides, in the words of Holly Golightly, I'd never done it before.

Rows upon rows of gorgeous renunculas (the primary crop) with a few poppies scattered throughout. Very pretty.

However, I guess I was expecting a little more variety, and the entire experience took maybe thirty minutes, with walking. For a $10 per person ticket, I thought it was a bit underwhelming. :(

I'm glad that we did it, but I'm not sure that we'll go back.
