I was finally able to watch this movie on Saturday night. I so wanted it to be everything that the first movie was -- beautiful, intriguing, and intricate.
It was none of these things. In fact, I believe that the best parts of the movie were featured in the trailer.
Cate Blanchett, was again, wonderful, as was Geoffrey Rush. Clive Owen is always wonderful to look at, and he pulled off Sir Walter Raleigh well.
The pacing dragged, however, and it seemed that there was simply too big of a story to tell within the span of the screenplay.
